The guitar props them up with acoustic chords and it sounds like a sail desperate to soar off on the wind, held back only by those wooden pegs and steel filaments.”
(Slight Return) is a collection of twenty short stories exploring the effect music has on ordinary lives. A music critic has an identity crisis; two brothers argue over Lou Reed; a carer wrestles with his conscience. The world is full of aspiring musicians and those looking for some sort of escape.
On the blog I’m trying a bit of a multimedia experiment, tying up paragraphs and sections of different stories to the songs that inspired them.
